Housewives¢¥ Attitude Toward the Institution of the Nursing Care Counselling Center


Abstract
In an attempt to achieve nurse¢¥s health care for a community effectively, the author evaluated the propriety of the institution of the Nursing Care Counseling Center (tentatively designated) by surveying the attitude of 147 housewives in Kwang-Ju. The results were follows:
1) 43.5% of the housewives showed clear understanding of the nurses¢¥ role in the community health. They were much interested in health care, prevention of communicable diseases, pregnancy and family planning, emergency care, and child rearing.
2) Most of them showed deep appreciation of. nurses¢¥ carrier in the technical training and license acquirement.
3) 46.3% received health care from the nurses, but just 38.0% showed content with them. The housewives¢¥ discontent was mainly due to inequities between theory and practice performed by the nurses.
4) Most of the housewives who had not received health care from the nurses were the midtown dwellers, who could utilize medical facilities with ease.
5) 55.8% showed positive attitude toward the institution of the Nursing Care Counseling Center and 30.6% affirmative or conservative consent. The remainder showed distrust or .indifference to the Nursing Care Counseling Center.
From these results it was concluded that most of the housewives recognized it pertinent and necessary to institute the Nursing Care Counseling Center.
